Aurora University celebrated Homecoming 2022 while the Spartan football team took care of business on Vago Field, defeating the visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors 62-17. AU scored in all three phases as the defense extended their scoring streak to four games with an

James Mautino returned a second punt for a touchdown this season.

- AU had the first possession of the game and had a pair of dropped passes that appeared to what would have been touchdowns end up in a punt.
- The Spartan defense got the ball right back forcing a three and out with WLC having minus seven yards.
- AU quarterback
Josh Swanson completed two passes, a 23-yard to
Cameron Moore and a 21-yard touchdown strike to
Trey Madsen for a 7-0 lead.
- After another defensive stop, a muffed punt gave WLC the ball at midfield but again the AU defense stopped the Warriors and got the ball back on a fourth down stop.
- Swanson connected with Madsen (42-yards) and Moore (10-yard score) and AU led 14-0.
- The Spartan defense and
Ben Slatcoff picked off a WLC pass to give the Spartans the ball back deep in Warrior territory.

Michael Boland to cap off a three-play drive and AU led 20-0.
- Only 1:34 later the Spartans went ahead 27-0.
James Mautino made up for an earlier miscue, returning the punt 44 yards untouched for a touchdown.
- Early in the second quarter, WLC got into AU territory for the first time but a 38-yard field goal try was wide and AU still led 27-0.
- The AU passing game continued to excel on the ensuing drive, going 79 yards in six plays with a Moore 23 yard score putting AU ahead 34-0.
- The next five minutes saw a scoring frenzy as WLC managed to score once.
- AU answered in 47 seconds after WLC attempted an on-side kick which the Spartans recovered. Three plays later Swanson hit a wide open Madsen in the end zone from 24 yards out.

Kevin Landa kickoff again pinned WLC deep in their own territory. On a second down play, Spartan
Cole Tandy was unblocked and his strip sack was pounced on by
Otis Watts. Watts perfectly executed the scoop and score from 22 yards and AU now led 48-7.
- The defensive score was the fourth for the AU defense in as many weeks.
- Just before halftime, WLC converted a 36 yard field goal.
- AU led 48-10 going to halftime.
- The Spartans scored on their first possession of the second half.
Michael Boland made a diving catch in the end zone from Swanson and AU led 55-10.
- Later in the third, seven straight runs from
Ta'vion Geanes let Swanson find a wide open Madsen. On the next play, Geanes found pay dirt and AU now led 62-10.
- WLC scored late in the third, the final score of the game.
- AU grounded out the clock in the fourth quarter and would win 62-17.
