The Aurora University Spartan football program had a pair of student-athletes earn conference and national recognition today when the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) and D3football.com announced their weekly honors.

Josh Swanson was named NACC Football Offensive Player of the Week while linebacker
Marcellus Romious was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for their performances in the Spartans 62-17 homecoming victory over Wisconsin Lutheran College.
NACC Player of the Week
Swanson was named the NACC Offensive Player of the Week after he was 18-of-25 passing for 296 yards and six touchdowns in a 62-17 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran. He leads NCAA Division III with 24 touchdown passes after connecting with
Trey Madsen,
Cameron Moore, and
Michael Boland twice each against the Warriors.
On the season, Swanson is 94-of-150 passing for 1,527 yards, 24 touchdowns and five interceptions. He is completing 62.67% of his passes and averaging 305.9 yards per game through the air.
D3football.com Team of the Week
Romious earned the D3football.com Team of the Week recognition after he led the AU defense in the win over Wisconsin Lutheran with 17 tackles, four of which were for a loss and added two pass break-ups.
On the season, Romious leads the team in tackles with 48, has 9.5 tackles for loss, five pass break-ups, one quarterback sack and one interception which resulted in a touchdown.
Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, October 15 when travel to Eureka College. Kick-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. in Eureka, Illinois.
