Spartan fall short in battle at Eureka

The Aurora University men's basketball team traveled to Eureka College for a non-conference battle. The Spartan fell short 79-73 in a close game with the Red Devils on Friday night.

How it happened
- The Spartans start the first half in defense battle with Eureka College, Noah Butler would lead the Spartans in the first half with 12 points and seven rebounds.
- The Spartans forced seven first-half turnovers and capitalized on six points on turnover to end at the half.
- The Spartan bench helped outscore Eureka 14 to 6 in the first half.
- Despite the slow start, the Spartans would end the first half 31-31.
- The second half was much the same, with the Spartans and Eureka trading the lead back and forth.
- Early in the second though the Spartans got a three from Tre Hamilton to lead 43-36.
- Midway though the second, AU trailed 57-50.
- With five minutes left in the second half, Eureka would go on a run to take the lead 69-58.
- With 58 seconds left, Julian Gatewood converted a layup and AU trailed by just three at 73-70.
- The Spartans would fall short of 79-73.
