The Aurora University football team is headed to the NCAA Division III Football Championship for the seventh time in program history and third consecutive season the NCAA has held a playoff. The Spartans received a Pool A berth as they finished the regular season with a 9-1 overall record and went a perfect 8-0 to win the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship.
 
The Spartans will travel to the University of Wisconsin Whitewater (8-2, 6-1 WIAC) in Whitewater, Wisconsin on Saturday, November 19. Game time has been set for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff at Perkins Stadium.  This will be the first meeting all-time between the two football programs.

AU football, under the direction of Head Coach Don Beebe and in his fourth season at the helm, makes a trip to the NCAA Division III Football Championship appearance for the third consecutive season.

AU is led by an offense that ranks second in scoring at 50.1 per game and 11th in total offense (486.6 yards per game).  Defensively the Spartans rank 17th in scoring defense allowing 11.7 points per game, fifth in turnover margin and 35th in total defense (267 yards per game)
