Hockey programs recognized for success on the ice

Hockey is among the newest sport programs at Aurora University within the last decade. The Spartan men's hockey program is in year nine and the women's hockey in year six of play in the ice.

Over the short period of the programs play, the Spartans have built themselves to be among the top programs in arguably the best hockey conference in NCAA Division III, the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA). And in building competitive teams, both the Spartan men's and women's programs have began to garner national attention.

In the latest (November 14), USCHO poll, both of the AU men's and women's teams are ranked in their respective top 15 poll which puts them in elite company. The Spartan programs are just one of four Division III college hockey schools that have both men's and women's programs ranked in the top 15.

The women are at Lake Forest on Friday, November 18 and Saturday, November 19 with 3:00 p.m. puck drops and the men are at Lake Forest on Friday, November 18 with a 7:00 p.m, puck drop and then host a 3:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, November 19 at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva, Illinois.
