Spartans win at Augustsna in tough road contest

The Aurora University men's basketball team traveled to Rock Island, Illinois to take on another CCIW opponent in Augustana College and for the second straight contest, the Spartans were victorious, this time winning 81-76.

How it happened
- AU trailed for most of the first-half and with 7:47 to play in the opening session, were down 22-16.
- A 12-3 Spartan run with five points each from Nathan Yockey and Brooks Schoon gave AU a 28-25 lead with 3:49 to go.
- The Soartans would lead 37-36 going to the halftime break.
- Noah Butler led all scorers with 12 first-half points.
- In the first 9:47 of the second-half, the Spartans and Augustana traded leads on nine occasions.
- With 7:27 to go in the second, AU trailed by their largest deficit of seven at 65-58.
- AU 8-0 run with four points a piece from Butler and Julian Gatewood put AU ahead 66-65 with 4:29 left on the clock.
- A three from Tre Hamilton with 1:44 to go gave the Spartans a 72-69 lead. AU would not trail again in the game.
- The Spartans converted from the free-throw line down the stretch and knocked off Augustana 81-76.
