The Aurora University men's lacrosse team opened the 2022 season in a battle of Spartans with the University of Dubuque. The AU Spartans were dominant in winning 15-3.

- The first 10 minutes of the opening quarter were scoreless between AU and Dubuque.

Ben Strub scored his first collegiate goal on an assist from
Andy Trenary.
- Seconds later AU went to a man-up but just after time expired on the 30 second extra-man, the Spartans scored.
Carson Leader found the twine with an assist from
Brody MacDonald.

Brody MacDonald scored an unassisted tally and AU led 3-0.
- The AU lead grew to 5-0 with a pair of goals just seconds a part. Trenary and MacDonald scored the goals.

- On the man-up in the final minute, the Spartans of Aurora scored again.
