The Aurora University baseball team welcomed the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors to a drenched Jim Schmid Field on Sunday afternoon with the Spartans hosting a Vs. Cancer event. Prior to game two, both teams came together in a show of unity against cancer, holding placards with names or reasons they are against cancer. In game action, the Spartans swept the games scoring 39 runs with 23-15 and 16-1 wins.

GAME ONE
- The Spartans had two errors in the first inning and WLC scored four times to lead 4-0.
- A single, three walks and a
Dylan White three run triple started the AU bottom of the first and AU tied the game 4-4. White scored on a ground out for the 5-4 lead.
- Four singles and four walks ot hit batsmen in the second allowed AU to score six more runs and lead 11-4 after two innings,
- WLC was not done though as they scored twice in the third and once in the fourth.
- AU went to the bullpen in the fifth and WLC feasted, scoring eight runs on nine hits in the frame. After 4-1/2 innings, AU trailed 15-11.
- Two hit by pitches and a single loaded the bases for AU to start the bottom of the fifth. An error allowed a run to score and a fielders choice plated another for a 15-13 score.
- In the sixth, three straight singles loaded the bases for WLC with no outs.
Seth Gutknecht then struck out the next three hitters to help get AU the momentum back.
- In the seventh, the Spartans took advantage of WLC walks, more hit by pitches and an error to get within one with one out.Â

Collin Meinert doubled in two to give the Spartans a 16-15 lead but the inning was far from over.
Jack Seefeldt launched a two-run homer right after and then later in the inning
Justin Sartori launched a three-run homer to push the AU lead to 21-15.
- AU added more runs in the eighth with
Corey Vondra doubling in one and
Nico Bermeo's infield single scoring another.

Corey Vondra led off the bottom of the first with a long home run to left for a 1-0 AU lead.
- A
Jett Wedekind single to score Vondra and a sac flyout from
Dylan White gave AU a 3-0 advantage.
- Spartan senior
Tanner Turnquist got his first start and tossed three innings of shutout baseball.
- AU manufactured two more runs in the fourth inning and led 5-0.
- A one-out walk led to AU exploding in the fifth inning with all damage coming with two outs. With two-outs and
Dylan White having reached on the earlier walk,
Collin Meinert doubled to left center to score White. Four walks to hit by pitches and five hits followed with a three-run triple from White being the damage creator.
- After five, AU led WLC 14-0.
- WLC got back to back doubles in the sixth to end the AU shutout hopes.
- In the sixth,
Dominick Curcio,
Kody Velazquez and
Spencer Ruch all singled in the frame as AU added two more runs to lead 16-1.
