The Aurora University women's lacrosse team defeated the visiting Cougars of Concordia University Chicago 18-8 and in doing so secured the 2022 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference regular season championship. This all coming on the same day that Head Coach
Christina Fried and her husband Derrick welcomed baby Jordan to the AU family.

- The Spartans scored two minutes into the game with a
Margaret Flanagan goal.
- AU would get four goals from
Monique Gibson and one from
Marina Kanner to lead 6-0 after one quarter.
- The visitors from CUC showed some life and fight in the second as they would score four times.
- But the Spartans had an answer for the Cougars as Gibson,
Bailey Simpson and Flanagan (two) scored to put AU up 10-2.
- Gibson scored her sixth of the day with 19 seconds left to send AU to halftime up 11-4.
- The game got chippy in the second half as three Cougars were forced out of the game due to multiple cards.
- With 12:12 to go in the third, AU coach
Mariah Smith called timeout. This was to announce to the team, the news that baby Jordan (Coach Fried) had been born.
- Goals from
Chiara Pfosi, two from Flanagan and another from Gibson put AU up 15-5 and the running clock rule enacted.

Kara O'Connell got in on the scoring in the fourth quarter.
- Gibson added two more for her eighth and ninth goals as the Spartans went on to win 18-8.
