Spartans split a pair against ranked opponents at Wesleyan Tournament

The Aurora University women's volleyball team took on a pair of nationally ranked opponents on the second-day at the Wesleyan University Classic. AU split the games, defeating Southwestern University 3-2 and later fell to the hosts 3-0 in a tightly played match.

How it happened
Vs. Southwestern
- The Spartans came out hot and won the first two sets.
- Southwestern won the third and fourth set to force a winner take all fifth set.
- Three service aces, two from Addy Gruse and three kills each from Kaitlyn Beebe and Sydnei Avery carried the Spartans to a 15-7 third set victory.

Vs. Wesleyan
- The first two sets in the match went extra time with AU falling 26-28 and 24-26.
- In the match, AU had eight service aces but had 21 attack errors which proved to be the difference in the matchup..
