The Aurora University women's volleyball team dropped their opener at the weekend IWU Classic to ranked Washington University, St. Louis, 3-0.

RECORD: Aurora University 9-5 overall and 2-0 in the NACC


- The Spartans and WashU went back and forth throughout the opening set with AU falling a tight 22-25 battle.
- A 9-1 run in the second set by WashU was to much for AU to overcome as they fell 16-25.
- The third set played out just like the first set with the teams trading scoring runs back and forth.
- With the set tied 22-22 late, WashU would defeat AU 22-25.
- AU hit .224 in the match led by Izzie Jackson (six kills - .667) and Dani Lauer (seven kills - .583).

Next action for the Spartan women's volleyball team comes on Saturday, September 24 when they travel to Illinois Wesleyan University for the IWU Classic. AU will take on No.15 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at 10:30 p.m. and Heidelberg University at 1:30 p.m. in Bloomington, Illinois.
