Spartans and Belles play to draw in non-conference matchup

The Aurora University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Saint Mary's College in a non-conference matchup Wednesday night.

How it happened
    - The Belles struck first with a goal in the 9th minute, giving Saint Mary's a 1-0 lead.
    - The Spartans answered back later in the half with a goal from Jessica Mirsky. She was assisted by Lauren Bliefernicht.
    - AU controlled much of the tempo in the first-half, but were unable to extend their lead before heading into halftime.
    - The second-half consisted of back and forth action each team having opportunities on goal.
    - The Spartans out-shot the Belles 16-11 but were unable to take the lead.
    - After the 90 minutes of play, the scored remained 1-1.
