The Aurora University men's volleyball team traveled to Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, Friday afternoon. The Spartans were defeated in three sets (19-25, 20-25, 21-25).

- A combined five service errors from both team led to a 6-4 start with Aurora leading.
- The Tigers were the first to settle down, though, as they would score six straight taking the lead and not looking back.

Austin Bayner led the set with four kills, but the Spartans were not able to catch the Tigers and fall in set one 19-25.

Nathan Anderson served up back-to-back aces in the second set and Spartans found themselves in a similar 6-4 lead.
- The Spartans were able to hang around a little more this set, but after a 9-9 tie, the Tigers would take the lead again and go on to win the set 20-25.
- In set three Spartan
James Karwin would give the Spartans their largest lead in a set of the night with an ace just over the net. 10-7 Spartans.
- After five lead changes the Spartans and Tigers were knotted up at 18-18.
- Wittenberg was able to take a 21-18 lead and take set three, 25-21, and the match, 3-0.

Next action for the Spartan men's volleyball team will come tomorrow Saturday, January 28. They will stay in Springfield, Ohio, and take on Messiah University and Juniata College. Opening serve against Messiah University will be 9:00 am cst and 3:00 pm cst against Juniata College.
