Spartans fall to Illinois Institute of Technology on rainy evening

The Aurora University women's soccer team hosted Illinois Institute of Technology for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference matchup on Wednesday night at the Spartan Athletic Park pitch. The Spartans fell to the Scarlett Hawks 5-0 on a very wet evening.

How it happened
-It took 10 minutes for either team to get a shot on goal, with Melina Cane saving IIT's attempt.
-A minute later, the Scarlett Hawks scored the game's first goal.
-Cane picked up nine saves in the first half.
-Lauren Bliefernicht put a shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but it was saved by the IIT goalkeeper.
-The Scarlett Hawks scored goals in the 58th, 60th and 63rd minute, to give them a 4-0 lead.
-IIT added another in the 81st minute off a penalty goal.
