Spartans Draw With Eagles Before NACC Tournament

The Aurora University women's soccer team had their 2023 regular season come to an end as they hosted as they hosted the Eagles of Benedictine University at the Spartan Athletic Park pitch. The Spartans ended in a draw with the Eagles, 2-2. The draw solidifies the number six seed for the Spartans in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament.

How it happened
- AU wasted no time getting on the board, as Lauren Bliefernicht found Emma Delgado in the 5th minute to put the Spartans ahead 1-0.
- A little over 10 minutes later, Madison Hougan put a shot on goal that nearly increased the Spartans lead.
- Jessica Mirsky found the back of the net on a breakaway goal to put  AU ahead 2-0 in the 21st minute.
- The Spartans out shot BU 8-4 in the first half.
- The Spartan defense only allowed the Eagles to put four shots on goal in the first half, all of which were saved by Spartan goalie Melina Cane.
- Bliefernicht almost struck in the 49th minute with a goal, but it just missed hitting the back of the net.
- BU scored goals in both the 67th and 84th minute to tie the game at 2.
- The Spartans put four shots on goal in the second half and only allowed BU to put two up.
- AU out shot the Eagles 13-9 in the game.

Sitting at the six seed, the Spartans will travel to Marian University for a quarterfinal matchup with the Sabres. Match time is set for 3:00 p.m. in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
