Spartans soar past Falcons in road #NACCtion

The Aurora University women's volleyball team notched an important road Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory on Saturday at Concordia University Wisconsin, defeating the Falcons 3-1.

How it happened
- The first set was back and forth between the Spartans and Falcons with six lead changes and 11 tied scores in the 26-24 CUW set win.
- Kate Poellmann led all attackers with seven kills in the first set.
- The second set was close early but a Riley Moreno kill that put the Spartans ahead 9-8 was the go ahead point AU needed.
- AU would go on and win the set 25-18 to tie the match 1-1.
- The Spartans hit .361 as a team led by Lulu Torres (five kills), Dani Lauer and Kate Poellmann (four kills each).
- AU brought out the serving machine in the third set with five aces as a team with two each from Kristen Erickson and Katelyn Ruse.
- The Spartans won in dominant fashion 25-10 to take a 2-1 match lead.
- In the fourth the Spartans grabbed an early lead of 16-8 but would see it evaporate as the game went extra points.
- AU fed Poellmann in the fourth set and would win 28-26.
- Poellmann hit .333 with 10 kills in the match winner.
