Spartans cut down Foresters in non-conference action

The Aurora University men's soccer team took to the road for a non-conference tilt at Lake Forest College on Monday afternoon. The Spartans cut down the Foresters with a five goal second-half to win 6-2.

How it happened
- After dominating possession early on, the Spartans struck in the 30th minute.
- Gio Villegas put AU up 1-0 at 29:34.
- The Spartans led 1-0 going to halftime with keeper Jalen Depenbrock making a save on the only shot sent his way.
- In the 52nd minute Ben Gamino put the Spartans ahead 2-0.
- Nearly 10 minutes later the Spartans tallied the eventual game-winning goal off the foot of Max Crawford.
- In the 64th minute, a foul on Depenbrock resulted in a penalty kick with Depenbrock saving the first attempt but the LFC shooter gathered the rebound and scored.
- In the 67th minute, the Spartans were awarded a penalty kick with Anthony Marmolejo converting on the try for a 4-1 AU lead.
- At 75:11 LFC scored their second goal of the game but AU led 4-2.
- AU added goals at 83:46 (Jaziel Enriquez) and 85:56 (Gamino from Marmolejo) for the final score of 6-2.
- Depenbrock made his seventh and eighth save of the second half in the final minutes to secure the 6-2 AU win.
