The Aurora University men's hockey team secured their first win of the season with a 5-3 road win over Concordia University Wisconsin on Friday night. AU used a two goal third period to seal the win.

- The Spartans came out shooting early in the contest and 4:44 into the opening period,
Riley Dekowny scored with assisted from
Alec Schwab and
Chase Broda.
- Less than three minutes later the Spartans went up 2-0.
- Dekowny scored his second of the night with a helper from
Juliano Santalucia.

Matt O'Donnell stopped all five shots sent his way in the first period.
- AU took a penalty 12 seconds into the second period and 23 seconds CUW would score the first of three power play goals in the period.
- 6:36 into the second and with 14 seconds left on a power play, CUW scored to tie the game with the Spartans 2-2.
- Later in the second the Spartans regained the lead at 3-2, scoring just after a power play of their own concluded.

Lukas Sedlacek scored the go ahead goal with assists from
Tyler Pang and
Matt O'Donnell.
- Minutes later CUW headed to another power play and would capitalize to tie the score 3-3 heading to the third period,
- AU killed off an early CUW power play in the third period and minutes later struck back to take the lead.

Jake Code scored the eventual game winning goal 8:26 into the third with Santalucia and
Hassan Akl picking up assists.
- The Spartans would have multiple power plays in the final half of the third period including a five on three that they wouldn't score on but the ensuing power play for AU proved worthy.

Connor Smith put the Spartans up 5-3 with the power play goal with 2:18 left in the game.
John Hallard and
Derrick Budz had assists on the goal.
- The final couple of minutes were very chippy as CUW took a pair of major penalties that resulted in 10 minute ejections.
- When the final horn sounded, the Spartans were victorious, 5-3.
