The Aurora University Spartans men's wrestling team competed in their second dual meet in a span of 18 hours, this time traveling to Wheaton College for a CCIW matchup. The Spartans prevailed in a tight dual 24-21.

- Jake Penzato (141) and Austin Abitua (149) would win their matches and give AU a 9-8 lead

- But after the Abitua match the apparent AU lead was taken away with the score being 8-8.
- The referee deducted one point from the team score for a control of mat violation for a dude in jeans as the explanation.
- Wheaton would score 10 points in the next two matches and led the dual 18-8.
- Christian Komitas got the Spartans rolling again at 174, winning by major decision to bring the Spartans to down 18-12.
- At 184, Kyus Root won by fall and added six more points to the AU tally, tying the score 18-18 with two duals to go.
- Wheaton won 197 by a decision and took a 21-18 lead on AU going to the final match of the dual.
- Cam'Ron Harper (285) sent the Spartans home happy when he won by a fall with two seconds left in the first period.
- The six points from Harper gave AU 24 on the dual and AU would win 24-21.


Next action for the Spartan men's wrestling team comes on Friday, January 5 and Saturday, January 6, 2024 when they travel to the NWCA Division III National Dual-Team Invitational. The National Duals are hosted in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the University of Northern Iowa Dome.
