- After Nolan Boffman put the Spartans up 25-21, the home team finished the half on a 9-0 run to lead 30-25 going to intermission.
- With 10 minutes to play in the game, AU trailed by 17 at 53-36.
- The Spartans chipped away at the deficit but with 53 seconds left were down eight (68-60).
- A 10-2 AU run with five points from Julian Gatewood would tie the game 70-70 and go to overtime.
- A three-point play (layup and free-throw) from Justin Wilson with 11 seconds left were the points to send the game to OT.
- Marian jumped out quickly in overtime and the Spartans would fall 84-75.
