- Trine again scored seconds later to cut the AU lead to 5-2.

Haley Knauf.
- Late in the second and on the penalty kill, the Spartans struck again.
- Marissa Trevino scored the short-handed tally with
Mak Cooke assisting.
- AU led 7-2 after the first 40 minutes of action.
- The third period was scoreless and AU was victorious 7-2.
