Spartan women sweep weekend series at Marian

Box Score The Aurora University women's hockey returned to the ice for game two of a NCHA match-up against Marian University Saturday afternoon. The Spartans scored three goals in the first, defeating the Sabres 5-0.

How it happened 
- The Spartans started the scoring frenzy early in the first.
- Two minutes into the opening period, Peyton Elliott scored an even strength tally on an assist from Bethany Koman.
- Allyson Richards followed on assists from Melina Cane and Ellie Visser and AU led 2-0.
- Spartan Peyton Elliott scored her second of the night and the final goal of the first period with 7:57 remaining. Bethany Koman and Ava Eid assisted the power play tally. 
- AU led 3-0 heading into the first intermission.
- To open the second, Darci Matson joined in on the scoring action, recording an even strength tally on assists from Bethany Koman and Madison Gasper.
- Midway through the third, passes from Darci Matson and Madison Gasper found the stick of Makenna Brownles who found the back of the Sabres net. AU lead 5-0 with less than 10 minutes remaining.
- AU goaltender Samantha Steciak had 22 saves on the night and the Spartans completed the 5-0 shutout.
