Spartans soar above Falcons in three set win

The Aurora University Spartan men's volleyball team made quick work of the Falcons from Concordia University Wisconsin, winning in dominating fashion 30 (25-15, 25-21, 25-16).

How it happened
- In the opening set, after Mateo Scharosch gave AU a 7-6 lead on a kill, the Spartans rolled.
- A kill and two aces from James Karwin helped AU go ahead 17-9 and CUW burned their final timeout.
- The Spartans went on to win 25-15 despite only hitting .179 but CUW hit -.038.
- AU stormed out to a 9-3 lead thanks to several CUW errors all over the court.
- CUW fought their way back into the set, tying the score 13-13.
- The Spartans continued to take advantage of Falcon follies and won 25-21.
- The third set had AU jump out to a 5-0 lead behind a Matthew Nelson kill, two Karwin aces and two more Falcon errors.
- After a CUW timeout, the visitors cut the Spartan lead to 9-7 but AU held strong and pulled away.
- An ace from Kevin Dunn and huge kill from Lucas Meier gave the Spartans their lead of the contest.
- The Spartans would coast to a 25-16 set win and a 3-0 match victory.
