Aurora University junior pitcher Justin Zimmerman has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 6-12, 2023, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Zimmerman made his AU debut last week and promptly went 2-0 with victories over both Mount Union (8-1) and Buena Vista (7-4). He got the start in both games, working a total of 14 innings -- seven in each contest - and struck out a total of 17 batters while allowing 13 hits and just two runs (one earned).

AU went 7-2 on the spring trip and is currently ranked No. 22 in the latest D3baseball.com poll.

Next action for the Spartan baseball team comes on Friday, March 17 when they play in the Wheaton Invitational. AU takes on Northwestern University (Minn) at 11:00 a.m. and Saint Mary's (Minn) at 2:00 p.m. at Lee Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, Illinois.
