Spartans sweep IIT and Endicott in home tri

The Aurora University men's volleyball team swept a pair of matches in a home triangular with a 3-1 NACC win over Illinois Tech and concluded the day with a 3-0 victory offer Endicott College.

MATCH TWO: Aurora University 3, Endicott College 0 (25-20, 26-24, 25-19)

How it happened
MATCH ONE vs. Illinois Tech
- The Spartans led throughout the first set with IIT, winning 25-16 with an all-around effort on both ends of the court.
- The second set was tightly played and despite hitting .263 the Spartans fell 25-23.
- In the third set, with the score tied 8-8, the Spartans awoke and ran away with the set.
- AU took advantage of many IIT errors for the 25-15 set win.
- The fourth set saw the Spartans bring the block game. Martin McKee had six in the set as AU won 25-22.

How it happened
MATCH TWO vs. Endicott
- AU won the first set 25-20, never led and just played another solid all around performance.
- Six different Spartans collected a kill in the set winner.
- The second set saw AU lead throughout until Endicott tied it up late 24-24.
- A kill from James Karwin was followed by a Gulls error for the 26-24 win.
- Another dominating set was on tap for the third for AU as they won 25-19.
- Matthew Nelson led the way with three kills and two aces.
- AU won the match 3-0 and concluded the sweep of the day.
