The Aurora University Spartan men's volleyball team eased their way past Edgewood College on Friday night, defeating the Eagles 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-23).

- AU came out strong and set the tempo with three thunderous kills from
John McCormack helping to open a 6-1 lead.
- McCormack finished the 25-13 set win with five kills and the Spartans hit .500 in the frame.
- Leading 10-8 in the second set, AU got a kill from
Matthew Nelson and ace from
Martin McKee to fuel a 5-1 run and AU led 15-9.
- The Spartans would win 25-21 as six Spartans collected a kill in the set win.
- AU led the third set early and then would find themselves in a large hole late trailing 23-17.
- But kills from Nelson, McCormack and
Adam Gebala to go along with six Edgewood attack errors strengthened the Spartan attack.
- Two back to back blocks from McCormack (2) and
Mateo Scharosch and Gebala were huge momentum plays in the late 8-0 run.
- The Spartans would lay claim to a 3-0 match win with the 25-23 third set victory.
