Trailing 2-0 and down three points (20-23) in the third set, the Aurora University Spartan men's volleyball team rallied to wn the third set 25-23 and would carry the momentum to a 3-2 match win (23-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17, 15-13).

- The Spartans trailed in the first set early, rallied to take a 20-16 lead before unforced errors led to a 25-23 Marian opening set win.
- The second set again saw the Spartans battle feverishly but errors allowed a 25-21 Marian set win.
- In the third set, AU trailed 20-15 and Head Coach
Dan Ames called a timeout.Â
- Coming out of the timeout, AU outscored Marian 10-3 and scored the last five points to come from behind and win 25-23.

James Karwin collecting a kill and ace in the final stretch.
- Carrying the third set momentum into the fourth, the Spartans roared out to a huge lead and won 25-17.
- The Spartans hit .440 in the fourth led by a five kills .833 performance from
Mateo Scharosch.
- In the deciding fifth set, AU fell behind 4-0 before rallying to knot the score at 8-8.
- Attack errors from both sides was prominent in the fifth set with the late errors from Marian being a benefit to the Spartans.
- A thunderous kill from
Mitchell Deacon was the deciding point in the match as AU won the fifth set 15-13 and complete the enormous come from behind win.
