Spartans take sting out of Hornets

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team was firing on all cylinders and swatted the Hornets of Kalamzoo College 18-3 in a non-conference matchup.

How it happened
- AU scored four times in the first quarter with Bailey Simpson scoring a point on each with three assists and a goal.
- Margaret Flanagan, Monique Gibson and Jessica Boyland had the goals.
- The Spartans out scored Kalamazoo 6-2 in the second with Gibson scoring twice for the hat trick.
- AU led 10-2 going to halftime.
- Goals from Gibson and Simpson early in the third enacted the running clock and AU was off and running.
- The Spartans led 15-2 after three with Yaukovitz scoring her third of the day for her hat trick.
- The first goal of the fourth came from Flanagan and she became the third Spartan recipient of the hat trick.
- AU built an 18-2 lead before Kalamazoo scored to end the Spartan scoring run at 10.
- The Spartans celebrated the victory in Michigan, winning 18-3.
