The Aurora University Spartan men's volleyball team clinched an appearance i the upcoming NACC Tournament with a pair of 3-1 victories on Saturday over Concordia Chicago and Lakeland University.


MATCH ONE SCORE:  Aurora University 3, Concordia University Chicago 1 (14-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21)
MATCH TWO SCORE: Aurora University 3, Lakeland University 1 (25-12, 25-19, 23-25, 25-16)
LOCATION: Thornton Gymnasium - Aurora, Illinois
RECORDS: Aurora University 14-10 overall and 10-1 NACC 


MATCH ONE - CONCORDIA CHICAGO
- CUC came out strong and dominated the first set winning 25-14.
- AU rebounded in the second set and won 25-17 behind seven assists, three kills and two aces from James Karwin.
- The third set saw the Spartans jump out to a comfortable lead at 12-7 only to see it disappear at 21-19.
- A plethora of CUC errors let AU win 25-22, led by eight blocks by numerous Spartans.
- The Spartans led throughout the fourth and final set, winning 25-21.
- Karwin had 12 assists in the fourth with Lucas Meier (4), John McCormack (3), Karwin (3), Gunner Rodarte (2) and Matthew Nelson (2) having multiple kill efforts.

MATCH TWO - LAKELAND
- AU dominated the action in the first set with Lakeland, hitting .286 and winning 25-12.
- Mateo Scharosch led with four kills.
- The Spartans controlled the second set in a 25-19 win, hitting .368 as a team.
- James Karwin had six assists, four kills and three aces in the second set win.
- The third set saw lots of Spartans see the court and Lakeland won 25-23.
- AU got back to work in the fourth set winning 25-16.
- Lucas Meier had five kills and AU hit .500 as a team in the win.
