Spartans dropped two at home

The Aurora University softball team returned to NACC action on Saturday afternoon against the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering. The Spartans dropped the doubleheader, falling 4-0 in game one and 14-8 in game two.

How it happened
Game One 
- MSOE took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off two hits.
- The Spartans threatened in the bottom half but left two runners on. 
- The Raiders added two runs in the third.
- In the fourth, with two runners on the Spartans could not bring a run across.
- The top of the seventh saw MSOE bring in one to lead 4-0.
- AU fell 4-0 in game one.

How it happened
Game Two 
- MSOE scored seven runs in the first inning. 
- In the second, the Spartans scored five runs on six hits. Faith Biggs and Delilah Aguirre started the inning reaching on a bunt and single up the middle. Jordan Seyfried stepped to the plate and doubled to score Biggs and Aguirre. With one out, Tyler Chambers and Kionna King hit RBI doubles and the Spartans trailed by three, 7-4. 
- Ashley Talaga scored pitch runner Reese Pozen on a line out to left field before heading to the top of the third.
- In the third, the Raiders scored four runs on one hit and led 8-5.
- The Spartans added two in the bottom half. Kionna King doubled to left field to score Chambers and Rayborn who both reached on back to back singles. Ashley Talaga followed and drove in Rayborn.
- AU headed into the fifth trailing by one, 8-7. 
- In the bottom of the fifth, the Spartans tied the game 8-8. Faith Biggs led off the inning with a double to left center. Aguirre laid a sac bunt down to move Biggs to third base and Jordan Seyfried squeezed to score the tying run.
- MSOE would add six more runs, one in the sixth and five in the seventh.
- The Spartans dropped game two 14-8.
