The Aurora University women's track and field team competed at the Wheaton Invitational on Friday, April 14th and Saturday, April 15th.
Deyanneira Colon Maldonado placed third in the 1500m run in a new PR of 4:47.63. This improves on her second best mark in Aurora history. Closely behind was teammate
Madison Etheridge, with a five second PR of 4:55.31. This is now the eighth best mark in AU history. The duo is currently ranked second and fourth in the NACC, and led the way for a total of six personal records in the 1500m for the AU women. Colon Maldonado and Etheridge later doubled back and ran the fifth and sixth fastest 800m times in the NACC this season.
In her second collegiate meet, Freshman
Natalie Grimaldo ran a 3.5 second PR in the 400m hurdles. Her time of 1:12.16 is now the tenth best mark in AU history.
Ashley Greer had a season best mark in the Javelin, placing third. Her throw of 33.22m ranks her fifth in the NACC currently.
Lauren Bliefernicht ran her debut 400m in a time of 1:02.23, placing 11th in the meet. That is the 7th fastest time in the NACC this season.
Freshman
Keyara Bailey cleared an outdoor PR in the high jump of 1.45m. This moves her into the top eight in the NACC on the outdoor season.
