Aurora University seniors Jalyn Yaukovitz and Monique Gibson have been named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Jalyn Yaukovitz - NACC Defense Player of the Week
Yaukovitz, a senior midfielder, had a strong all-around effort in the 2-0 week for Aurora but her defensive presence from her midfield position was outstanding. She had seven caused turnovers and 14 draws last week, highlighted by a four caused turnover and eight draw control effort in the 22-7 win at Concordia Wisconsin.

On the season, Yaukovitz has 42 goals with 19 assists for 61 points. She has 57 draw controls, 52 ground balls and 32 caused turnovers to lead the 14-1 and NACC Champion Spartans.

Monique Gibson - NACC Offense Player of the Week
Gibson, a senior midfielder, led Aurora to a 2-0 week with a 15-8 non-conference win over Lake Forest and a 22-7 defeat of Concordia Wisconsin. She had eight goals and two assists with 13 draw controls and two ground balls. In the win at CUW in a matchup of unbeaten NACC teams, Gibson had four goals and one assist with seven draw controls. Her numbers were nearly similar in the win over LFC with four goals and one assist with six draws.

On the season, Gibson has 60 goals with 20 assists for 80 points. She has 88 draw controls, 37 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers to lead the 14-1 and NACC Champion Spartans.

Next action for the Spartan women's lacrosse team comes on Friday, April 28 when they travel to University of Wisconsin - River Falls with opening draw set for 5:00 p.m. in River Falls, Wisconsin.
