The Aurora University softball team swept a NACC doubleheader on Thursday afternoon at Benedictine University, sweeping the longtime rivals 4-2 and winning game two 10-2 in the mercy rule.

Game One
- The Spartans took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, manufacturing the runs with two singles and a squeeze bunt.

Delilah Aguirre drove in
Ashley Talaga with a single and
Faith Biggs laid down a squeeze to score
Alex Thiel.
- A solo home run from Biggs in the fourth put AU ahead 3-0.
- BU loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth but
Madelyn Buske worked out of the jam, allowing just one run.
- The game remained 3-1 heading to the seventh.
- AU added an insurance run in the top of the inning with
Tyler Chambers reaching on a two-out error and she scored on a
Lexi Rayborn double.
- BU scored a run in the seventh but Buske sealed the 4-2 victory.

Game Two
- AU batted around in the first inning, scoring five runs on five hits and also took advantage of three BU errors.

Jemma Fiehweg led off the game with a triple to get the Spartans going and scored on a double from
Lexi Rayborn.
- Later in the inning,
Ashley Talaga and
Alex Thiel had run scoring singles and
Faith Biggs had a two-run single for the 5-0 lead.
- Biggs added two more runs batted in in the third inning and AU now led 7-0.
- BU scored a run in each the third and fourth inning on pitcher
Rylee Campbell but AU maintained a 7-2 lead.
- The Spartans got into the mercy rule zone in the fifth inning when they scored three runs on run scoring singles from
Jemma Fiehweg and
Tyler Chambers and
Lexi Rayborn hit a sac fly.
- Campbell got out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the fifth to preserve the eight run lead (10-2) and end the game early.
- AU won 10-2 in five innings.
