The Aurora University women's lacrosse team returned to winning ways in the 2023 regular season finale at the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse, winning a close game 15-14.

- The Spartans took the early lead 26 seconds into the game on a Monique Gibson goal.
- The game then went back and forth in goals between AU and UWL with Spartan goals coming from Danielle Cobbett and Bailey Simpson.
- After one quarter, the score was tied 3-3.
- UWL scored five times to start the second quarter and with 6:47 left in the first-half, AU trailed 8-3, their largest deficit of the season.
- The Spartans rose up and stormed back, scoring three times in a 51 second span which forced a UWL timeout.
- Bailey Simpson, Gibson and Kenly Axvig scored the goals.
- AU was not slowed by the timeout as they kept the pressure on and scored three more times including a goal from Jalyn Yaukovitz with four seconds left to give the Spartans a 9-8 lead.
- AU led 9-8 going to the halftime intermission.
- Simpson put AU ahead 10-8 a few minutes into the third quarter but UWL scored twice to tie the game.
- Yaukovitz, Gibson and Jessica Boyland scored in the third as well to put the Spartans up 13-10.
- AU led 13-11 going to the fourth.
- Boyland scored her second of the day and AU led 14-11 with 11:39 left in the game.
- UWL worked back into the game and with 2:36 to play tied the game 14-14.
- Just as she had done before the halftime break, Jalyn Yaukovitz lit the lamp with 13 seconds remaining in the game.
- This time her goal and assist from Simpson was the game winning goal.
- AU was victorious 15-14.
