Spartan men hit the track to open outdoor season

The Aurora University Men's Track and Field team competed at the North Central College First Chance Invite on Saturday, April 8th. 
Freshman Brian Nasr made his debut competing for the Spartans in the Javelin Throw, placing second. With his mark of 51.98, he is now third in school history. He is currently ranked first in the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference in this event.
Cris Valencia and Steven Kalish ran personal bests in the 10,000 meter run, moving them both up in Aurora's record book. Valencia ran a 44 second PR of 33:03.50, ranking him fourth in school history. Kalish ran nearly a two minute PR of 33:23.26, ranking him fifth in school history.
Steven Tinsley placed third in the Shot Put with a mark of 15.35. He is currently ranked first in the NACC with this throw.
Eli Grundman won the Pole Vault with a height of 4.40. Nate Bermes placed fourth with a height of 4.10.
