Aurora University men's lacrosse student-athletes Phillip Gianelle and Eli Etzler were named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Phillip Gianelle - NACC Defense Player of the Week
Gianelle led Aurora to the 2023 NACC Tournament title and a NCAA tournament appearance with a pair of victories in goal. He stopped 21 of the 28 shots sent his way over two games with 14 saves in the 20-4 semifinal win over Benedictine, then added seven saves with just three goals allowed in the 22-4 final win over Illinois Tech.

Eli Etzler - NACC Offense Player of the Week
Etzler was dominant on the face-off in the NACC Tournament, winning 25 of the 35 he took over the course of two games, including a 16-of-19 performance in a 22-4 win over Illinois Tech in the championship game. He added eight ground balls and a goal against the Scarlet Hawks. Etzler finished the week with 12 ground balls.

Next action for the Spartan men's lacrosse team comes on Wednesday, May 10 when they travel to Illinois Wesleyan University for a NCAA tournament first-round matchup. Opening face-off will be at 3:00 p.m. in Bloomington, Illinois
