The Aurora University women's volleyball team opened the first day of the trip to Texas with a pair of matches, falling 3-1 to University of Puget Sound and 3-0 to Southwestern University.

- The Spartans went back and forth to open up with Puget Sound and the score was knotted 22-22.

- The Spartans trailed 10-0 in the first set and would fall 25-9.
- AU responded quickly in the second set to take a 5-1 lead fueled by thre.e straight aces from
Celeste Cozzoni.
- Trailing 23-17 late in the second, the Spartans ran off six straight points to tie the score 23-23.
- Two attack errors from AU would concede the set to Southwestern 25-23.
- The third set saw the two teams go back and forth throughout but the Spartans fell 25-23 and lost 3-0.
