The Aurora University men's hockey team returned to the home ice for the first time in the new year of 2024 against the Green Knights of St. Norbert College. Despite trailing 3-0 in the first the Spartans rallied but came up just short, falling 3-2.

- The Spartans fell behind 2-0 in the first 9:07 of the first period with the second goal having AU Head Coach Jason Bloomingburg call a timeout to refocus the Spartans.
- AU would find themselves trailing 3-0 with a SNC goal with 1:11 left in the opening period.
- The Spartans answered with their first goal of the game 27 seconds later and 44 seconds remaining on the first period clock.
- Jakson Kirk scored the AU goal with assists from Lucas Sedlacek and Jackson Hay.
- The teams went to the first intermission with AU trailing 3-1.
- AU turned to Matt O'Donnell in net to begin the second period.
- Midway through the second both teams were assessed penalties and the Spartans took advantage of the 4 on 4 ice.
- 37 seconds into the 4 on 4, Chase Broda found the back of the net with assists from Tyler Pang and Hassan Akl.
- The score would remain 3-2 as the teams went to the second intermission.
- The third period was scoreless but not without entertainment as the teams went back and forth at each other.
- When the final horn sounded, AU fell 3-2.
