The Aurora University women's hockey team opened the 2024-2025 season at Bethel University on Friday night. The Spartans fell 3-1 in the contest.

- 3:54 into the game Bethel scored to take an early 1-0 lead.
- Both teams had chances the remainder of the first period but headed to intermission with the 1-0 Bethel lead.
- AU had to kill off a power play early in the second but the host Royals scored to push the AU deficit to 2-0.
- With 3:30 left in the second the Spartans struck.
- Cara Cook cut the lead to one with the first AU goal of the season. Zara Post and Ellie Visser had assists.
- 2-1 would be the score heading to the third.
- Late in the third the Spartans were 12 seconds from killing off a penalty when Bethel scored to increase the lead to two.
- 3-1 would prove to be the final score.
