The Aurora University women's basketball team continued action in the Melissa Johnson / Hope Classic on Saturday afternoon, this time squaring off against University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in Richmond, Indiana. The Spartans went down to the wire with the Pointers, but fell just short 70-67, marking AU's first loss of the season.

- Six different Spartans scored in the opening quarter, as the Pointers held a 19-14 lead after 10 minutes of play.

Krystyna Manzanarez set her up for a three that tied the game at 23 with seven minutes to go in the first half.
- AU would face a 38-30 deficit going into the halftime break.
- A couple of trips to the free throw line for
Danielle Antoine and Fischbach put the Spartans back within a couple of possessions midway through the third. AU trailed 46-41 with 4:17 to go.
- A 6-1 scoring run for AU in the final 1:25 of the third put them within one possession of UWSP heading into the final quarter.
- Points off turnovers were big for the Spartans in the third, outscoring the Pointers 10-2 in that category.
- AU's bench also came alive in the third, outscoring UWSP 9-2.
- Manzanarez nailed a three to give AU big momentum and their first lead of the game at 59-57 with 5:44 to go.
- A clutch old fashioned three point play from Fischbach with just 39 seconds left tied the game at 67.
- UWSP would score on their final possession to knock off a resilient Spartans squad that refused to go down easy.
