The Aurora University men's hockey picked up their third-straight win to open up the season on Friday night with a 5-2 thrashing at Lake Forest College. Five different Spartans recorded a goal including one just 22 seconds into the game to keep AU undefeated on the young season.

- It took just 22 seconds for AU to take the lead. Chayce Scmidt found the back of the net off assists from Lukas Sedlacek and Jakson Kirk.
- Lake Forest tied the score back up at one later in the first at the 4:22 mark.
- AU struck just seven seconds after securing a 5 v 4 power play. Juliano Santalucia lit the lamp off assists from Mathis Bedard and Hassan Akl.
- This made it 2-1 in favor of the Spartans about halfway through the first period.
- AU took this 2-1 advantage into the first intermission.
- Jacob Brockman netted an even strength goal for AU at the 8:28 mark of the second period as Hassan Akl picked up his second assist on Brockman's tally. 
- John Hallard was also credited with an assist on the play.
- 35 seconds after killing off a Foresters power play, Matt Weber got in on the scoring barrage for the Spartans. Weber was assisted by Landry Schmuck and Jakson Hay.
- This allowed AU to take a 4-2 lead into the second intermission.
- Lake Forest scored on a power play at the 3:58 point of the third period to cut the Spartan lead to 4-2. 
- Kirk added one more for the Spartans with just 31 seconds to go, sniping one into the back of the net off an assist from Andrew Schultz.
- This helped give AU the 5-2 win over the Foresters on Friday night.
- Jacob Mucitelli finished with 15 saves in net for the Spartans.
