Spartans split with LFC ahead of the Harris Cup.

The Aurora University men's hockey team traveled to Lake Forest College for their final NCHA matchup on Saturday night. Despite a loss to the Foresters on Friday, the Spartans rallied and secured a split with a 5-2 victory.

How it happened
- The Foresters scored a power-play goal midway through the opening period to grab 1-0 lead. 
- AU leveled the score at 13:31 when Chayce Schmidt capitalized on a power play, with an assist from Chase Broda for Schmidt's seventh goal of the season.
- With both teams tied 1-1, they headed to the locker room after the opening period.
- Lake Forest scored the first goal of the second at 3:02.
- The Spartans gained momentum after Blake Kondor scored the equalizer on assists from Hassan Akl and Giovanni Procopio.
- Less than three minutes later, Matt Weber notched the go-ahead goal. Connor Smith earned his first assist of the night.
- The Spartans maintained a 3-2 lead heading into the final period.
- Despite being outshot 17-8 by the Foresters in the third, AU managed to add two goals during the period.
- Jack Rudin extended the Spartans lead to 4-2 with assists from Kyle Schroeder and Riley Dekowny.
- In the closing minutes, Chase Broda contributed to the scoring, putting the Spartans ahead 5-2.
- AU goaltender Matt O'Donnell made 35 saves throughout the night to secure the 5-2 victory.
