Spartans seal sweep against LFC in final NCHA matchup

The Aurora University women's hockey team wrapped up the final NCHA series against Lake Forest College with a 4-1 victory, securing a sweep. They netted three goals during a dominant second period performance.

How it happened 
- AU gained momentum on a power play midway through the first with the Foresters in the box for roughing.
- Haley Knauf assisted Makenna Brownlee in scoring the lone goal of the opening period at 10:35.
- The Spartans doubled their lead 1:27 into the second period when Olivia Buzzelli scored on assists from Peyton Elliott and Julianna Gallenero.
- Three minutes later, another Fosters penalty gave the Spartans an opportunity to extend their lead 3-0. 
- Marie Dedert and Stephanie Schmunk set up Ellie Visser who found the back of the Fosters net.
- The Spartans scored their last goal of the period, on a Foster power play when Haley Knauf joined in on the scoring the action. She was assisted by Madison Gasper.
- In the third period, the Foresters scored their lone goal to make it 4-1.
- Marie Dedert had 32 to saves on the night to seal the 4-1 victory.
