The Aurora University women's track and field team competed at the Keck DIII Select meet hosted by Illinois Wesleyan on February 2nd and 3rd.
Madison Etheridge broke the school record in the 800 meter run. Her three-second indoor personal record of 2:20.52 placed fifth in the meet. She currently leads the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference. This is the third meet in a row where an Aurora women's school record has been set.
Lauren Bliefernicht opened her competition with a PR of 7.94 in the preliminary round of the 60 meter dash. This performance is the second best in school history. She placed sixth in the final with a time of 7.97. She continued her streak of PRs in the 200, placing second with a time of 25.92. This is the third fastest time in Aurora history. She is ranked first in the NACC in both events.
Silja Erickson threw a 19 centimeter PR of 11.84 in the Shot Put, placing 10th. This improves on the eighth best mark in school history.
Alayna Koehler had personal best performances in multiple events in the Pentathlon, placing fifth with a score of 2692 points. She ran a PR of 10.82 in the 60 meter hurdles, and jumped a PR of 4.65 in long jump.
The 4x400 meter relay comprised of Bliefernicht,
Mary Dietz, Etheridge, and
Deedee Colon Maldonado ran a season best time of 4:13.84. The Spartans are currently ranked first in the NACC.
