Spartans sting Hornets in non-conference action

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team continued their home stand on Saturday afternoon hosting the visiting Hornets of Kalamazoo College. AU defeated the Hornets 15-9.

How it happened
- AU jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with goals from Rielan Pura and Chris Bucci.
- After a visitors goal, the Spartans ran off eight consecutive goals with one from Pura finishing the first quarter scoring.
- The next seven in the second quarter with the Spartans leading 10-1.
- Kalamzoo ended the first half scoring three goals as the Spartans led 10-4.
- AU's Carson Leader got the second-half scoring started early in the third to put the Spartans up 11-4.
- The pesky Hornets would answer with the final three goals of the third to cut the AU lead to 11-7 going to the final quarter.
- In the fourth AU book ended Kalamazoo with two goals before and after two from the Hornets.
- Spencer and Pura scored the first two with Strub scoring the final two goals.
- Spartan goalie Asher Deputy flashed the badge in net with 17 saves in the winning effort.
