The Aurora University women's lacrosse team hosted Hope College for a Wednesday afternoon showdown as the Spartans 2024 non-conference schedule starts to wind down. Despite four goals from
Brianna Peck, AU couldn't come back from an early first-half deficit and fell to the Dutch 17-9 at Spartan Athletic Park.

Brianna Peck didn't waste much time giving AU an early lead after netting an unassisted goal less than two minutes into the contest.
- Hope came back with two goals for a 2-1 lead with 6:24 to go in the first quarter.
- Peck scored the next two goals for AU, picking up a hat trick before the first quarter even came to a close. She was assisted by
Sydney Mann and
Danielle Cobbett, with the second goal coming while the Spartans were on the power play.
- With 2:10 left in the first quarter, Cobbett maneuvered her way around a couple of Hope defenders before sniping one into the back of the net.
- Hope scored a power play goal right before the buzzer at the end of the first, trimming AU's advantage to 4-3 going into the second quarter.
- After Hope tied the score at 4 with another power play goal,
Kenly Axvig took the Spartans one goal lead back with an unassisted goal of her own.
- Peck picked up right where she left off in the first with her fourth goal of the game, giving AU a 6-5 lead with 9:32 left in the first half.
- Hope scored the next six goals of the first as the Spartans trailed 11-6 going into the halftime locker room.
- With Hope leading 12-6 after another goal to open up the second half,
Caley Russell converted a free position attempt for AU. With 12:18 remaining in the third quarter, the Spartans saw a 12-7 deficit.
- Axvig moved the score to 12-8 in the third after firing another one into the back of the net.
- Four-straight goals from Hope to close the third quarter saw AU trail 16-8 heading into the fourth.
- Less than five minutes into the final quarter, Cobbett halted the Hope scoring run with her second goal of the game.
- Hope scored one more goal before the final buzzer to hand the Spartans a 17-9 loss.
