The Aurora University softball team hit the road for their first NACC doubleheader of the weekend against Concordia University Wisconsin. In game one of the conference series match up, the Spartans secured a solid 8-2 victory over the Falcons, but fell short in game two, losing 9-6.

GAME ONE:
- The Spartans wasted no time getting on the board in the opening inning. Freshman
Aubrey Ortiz kicked off the inning with a leadoff walk, swiftly advancing to third on
Tyler Chambers' single.
Faith Biggs then drove in Ortiz with an RBI single to left center, putting the Spartans ahead.

Kionna King stepped up to the plate and singled to the left side, bringing
Tyler Chambers home. With one out,
Faith Biggs scored on a sacrifice fly from
Casey Brennan, extending the Spartans lead to 3-0.
- A Falcon RBI single cut into the Spartans gap in the bottom of the second to make it a 3-2 ballgame.
- The Spartan offense came alive in the top of the fourth inning. The rally began with back-to-back singles from
Casey Brennan and
Jordan Seyfried.
Alex Thiel then drove in Brennan with a double to left field.
- Following a walk by
Aubrey Ortiz, the Spartans found themselves with one out and the bases loaded.
Tyler Chambers stepped up to the plate and singled to bring home pinch runner Anderson.
- Following an AU base running error, the Spartans found themselves with two outs and runners on first and second. A Falcon error allowed
Aubrey Ortiz to score, extending the lead to 6-2.
- Then,
Kionna King delivered another clutch hit, stepping up to the plate and smashing a bases-clearing double that put the Spartans up 8-2.

Rylee Campbell was dominant in the circle for the Spartans. Following the team's impressive fourth inning, Campbell held the Falcons to just one hit in the fifth.
- She recorded four strikeouts throughout the game.
GAME TWO:
- Similarly to the first, the Spartans opened the game by getting on the board.
Aubrey Ortiz and
Tyler Chambers kicked off the inning with back-to-back singles. Ortiz crossed the plate on an RBI from
Faith Biggs, while Chambers scored on a double from
Kionna King.
- In the top of the third, the Spartans loaded the bases with one out. Chambers stepped up to the plate and delivered a bases-clearing double, bringing three runs across the plate. AU took a 5-0 lead.
- A two run homer in the bottom of third put the Falcons on the board.
- The Spartan bats quieted down as the Falcons added seven runs to take a 9-5 lead heading into the top of the seventh inning.
- In a last-ditch effort, the Spartans began the seventh with three consecutive singles from Chambers, Biggs, and King.
- Pinch hitter
Emma Lytton contributed with a sacrifice fly to right field, bringing in one run.
- Despite the effort, the Spartans fell short, losing 9-6 in game two.
