The Aurora University softball team picked up another sweep in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon, this time enacting the run-rule in both games against the Regents of Rockford University. The Spartans won game one 11-1 and game two 10-2 both in five innings.

GAME ONE:
- The Spartans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Kionna King singled in Faith Biggs and Tyler Chambers.
- Rockford scored a run in the bottom of the first.
- AU added fives runs in the second on four singles and a double from Alex Thiel to expand the lead to 7-1.
- As AU pitcher Rylee Campbell coasted through the Rockford lineup, the AU offense continues to add runs.
- In the third an Alyson Haegele double and Aubrey Ortiz single scored two more runs for a 9-1 AU lead.
- Three more AU singles in the fourth added two more runs and the Spartans led 11-1.
- The Spartans and Campbell would maintain the 10-run lead and go on to win 11-1 in five innings.

GAME TWO:
- After a scoreless first inning, the Spartan bats awoke in a big way in the second.
- Jordan Seyfried and Faith Biggs each had three run home runs in the inning as AU scored six times.
- AU added three singles in the third but only scored once to add on to the lead at 7-0.
- Rockford scored twice in the bottom of the third to cut the AU lead to 7-2.
- The game stayed 7-2 AU until the fifth when AU broke the game open and the score got into mercy rule territory.
- Alex Thiel led off the fifth with a walk and scored later in the inning on an error.
- A few batters later, Shelby Linn singled to score two runs and gave AU a 10-2 lead.
- Spartan pitcher Madelyn Buske set down the Regents in the bottom of the fifth to secure the run rule win.
