The Aurora University softball team returned to Bedrosian Stadium, squaring off against the Eagles of Edgewood College for their second conference match-up series of the weekend. In the first game, the Spartans offense exploded, scoring 16 runs in five innings. AU secured the sweep by clinching victory in the second game with a final score of, 7-3.

GAME ONE:
-Â The Spartans exploded for six runs in the first inning, batting through the lineup.Â
Faith Biggs hit a double to left field, bringing
Aubrey Ortiz and
Tyler Chambers home. Ortiz and Chambers had both reached base earlier with a single and a double.
- Adding to the offensive momentum, Biggs later scored on a fielder's choice, extending the Spartans lead to 4-0 with no outs.
- The momentum continued with a clutch hit from
Casey Brennan, driving in two more runs, while
Jordan Seyfried capped off the inning by bringing in the final run.
- Edgewood responded with their sole run of the game in the top of the second inning.
- AU extended their lead with two more runs in the second inning, courtesy of RBIs from
Shelby Linn and
Casey Brennan.
-In the third inning, the Spartans maintained their momentum, scoring four runs on five hits. Chambers, King, Linn, and Brennan all recorded RBIs.

Tara Bomleny stepped up with crucial hits to further add to the Spartans lead.
- AU run-ruled Edgewod 16-1 in five innings.
- In the circle,
Rylee Campbell improved to 14-4 on the season, only allowing five hits in five innings.Â
GAME TWO:
-Â The Spartans threatened in the first inning with the bases loaded but were unable to push a run across.
- In game two, both teams remained scoreless until the bottom of the third when the Spartans managed to score three runs.

Faith Biggs then stepped up to the plate and delivered a bases-clearing triple, giving the Spartans a 2-0 lead.Â

-Â The Eagles responded with a three-run homer, tying the game in the top of the fourth inning.
- The Spartans bats went quiet in the fourth and fifth innings, only to come alive in the sixth.
- AU retook the lead by scoring four runs on five hits and capitalizing on one Eagles error.Â

Tyler Chambers singled up the middle, bringing pinch runner LilyKomperda home.

- With AU leading 7-3, they just needed three outs to clinch the victory.
- The Spartans closed out the game with a 1,2,3 inning, completing the sweep over the Eagles with a final score of 7-3.
