The Aurora University women's hockey traveled to Trine University for a NCHA matchup on Friday night. The Spartans battled in a hard-fought match-up but came up just short in a 3-2 loss to Trine. AU struck first and carried a lead into the first intermission, but the Thunder responded with a pair of goals to edge out the victory. Despite out shooting Trine and creating multiple scoring opportunities, the Spartans couldn't find the equalizer in the final period.

-Early in the second, Trine tied the game again with an even-strength goal.
-The Spartans generated 11 shots on goal in the second period but couldn't find the back of the net.
-AU started the third period on a power play and continued to apply pressure.
-Midway through the final frame, Trine broke the tie with the game-winning goal.
-Despite a strong effort, the Spartans fell 3-2 in a tightly contested match-up.
